All the pruning has been all done the vines, so I though I would give you a quick tongue-in-cheek run down of different pruning styles...

Colbie Cracks US top 5
Remember a few months ago I recommended the music of Colbie Caillat in my ultimate dinner party tunes? Since then, she has released her debut album, and it shot to number 5 on the US charts.

Word of the day:
supernal \soo-PUR-nuhl\, adjective:
1. Being in or coming from the heavens or a higher place or region.
2. Relating or belonging to things above; celestial; heavenly.
3. Lofty; of surpassing excellence.
USE: "Dang...have you tried those Koonara wines? They're Supernal."

Is that so...

Researchers have identified an aromatic compound which produces the popular black pepper smell in red wine. Just one drop of the compound would make an Olympic-sized swimming pool smell peppery...

Cooking with MacGyver
Cooking in mud
Wrap your meat in fresh grass. Tie the grass off using natural cordage, completely covering the meat. Cover the package in at about 3 cm (1") of wet clay or mud with no grass showing through. Place the package on a deep bed of embers and build a fire above.

A good sized fish take around an hour to cook..
Squeezing a Lemon: Heat the lemon over the fire for your fish to help release the juices.

The ultimate dinner party:

All advice on recipes warmly welcome

Thai Lime and Chilli Cutlets
Char-grilled lamb cutlets in a chilli lime marinade. This recipe has been favourably reviewed by dieticians from Diabetes Australia-NSW.
Serves: 6
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
12   frenched lamb cutlets
1/3 cup   lime & chilli Sauce
1   mango, cut in slices for garnish
1 bunch   shallots, cut in strips for garnish
Method
1.   Brush cutlets with lime and chilli sauce, reserving some for basting throughout cooking.
2.   Cook cutlets to preference, basting occasionally.
3.   Test cutlets are cooked to your liking by pressing with tongs rather than cutting them (rare feels very soft, medium a little firmer). Cover and rest about 2 minutes before serving to retain juiciness.
4.   Serve on a bed of fragrant jasmine rice and garnish with mango slices and shallot strips.
Tip:
Frenched lamb cutlets make great canapes to serve at a cocktail or drinks party. Wrap bones in foil to serve.

Wine to Match:
Koonara 2007 Adelaide Hills Riesling $16
We were frosted out, so managed to source some grapes from one of the coldest vineyard in the hills. Very excited about this one - will go great with the lime & chilli of this recipe.
