Angel’s Peak Shiraz 2012 (dozen) + 2 FREE Guardian Angel Sparkling Piccolos
Angel’s Peak, Shiraz, Coonawarra 2012 (dozen): Limited stock
James Halliday, 94 points: “From organic vineyards, matured for 24 months in French hogsheads. Bright, deep crimson-purple; lives up to the promise of the colour with both the bouquet and palate full of ripe black cherry and blackberry fruit, which at this stage has better balance (qua oak) than the Family Reserve Ezra’s Gift, and has a particularly appealing juicy intensity to the finish.”
The name ‘Angels Peak’ is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the lack of ‘peaks’ in the very flat Coonawarra.
No residual sugar, below organic levels of sulphur, 18 month in 100% French Oak Barrels (20% new). This wine has seamless mint dark chocolate and coffee notes, over silky mulberries and molasses.
Lift this bottle to the light and try to see through the neck. The density of colour shows the quality of the grapes that went into this wine. Since flavour and deep colour in Shiraz comes from the skin, we grow our grapes smaller, about the size of a pea.

The piccolo is a mini version of our 750ml bottle, fabulous when you only feel like 1.5 glasses (we hear it does happen!).
The cool 2015 year has given this wine the zesty apple and pear notes. This year we’ve given it more complexity by adding a small portion of aged chardonnay, creating a hint of honey and butterscotch.
