1999,2000,2002 - "4 Stars" - Winestate magazine. (2003 & 2004 not given to them to review yet.) 2003 & 2004 - Silver Medal - Melbourne |
Ambriel's Gift 1999 Aged Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon- $27 Ambriel is the angel of communication The vineyard's crop has always been very low -averaging less than two tonnes. From this small crop we get intense flavoured grapes, because the vine is working to put the flavour in a smaller number of bunches. "4 Stars" - Winestate Magazine Annual 2006 "A new name which has placed it instantly at the top of Coonawarra reds" - Sun Herald, Sydney

"a heavenly delight...it's
angelic aromas begin with ripe blackberries coated in dark chocolate,
while extra characters on the nose include memories of cottage garden mint
and the sniff of old cigar box." - Grahame Whyte, Courier Mail, Ballarat |
Cupra is the angel of Sunlight, from Galileo's quote - "Wine is sunlight held together by water"
French Oak barrels for 2 years, this wine is has a smooth sweetness, yet
has no residual sugar, the mark of a premium quality wine. A Screwcap on
this wine means it will still age, but have no chance of any cork taint.
The colour on this one is the biggest Cupra's yet. Best drinking: June
2007 to 2014. |

| "Peter Douglas made some outstanding Coonawarra Rieslings when he was with Wynns and he’s hit another home run here with a lively, zesty wine that shows immense cellaring potential. There’s oodles of flavour on the palate with nashi pears and tropical fruits to the fore, but the wine finishes nice and dry with very little residual sugar. Take a bottle along to your local Thai or Vietnamese." - Winsor Dobbin, |

Koonara Silver Label
Coonawarra Shiraz (RRP $19.95)
The shiraz equivalent to the Cupra’s Gift –
This wine was deliberately kept separate from the
Ezra’s Gift label. Its has the faintest hint of Viognier, which we worked
out to be around 0.02%. Yet this small amount is still enough to give
the wine a slight perfumed nose without adding the white pepper to the
palate. Fresh and vibrant this wine has had 2 years in mostly 2nd &
3rd year
oak. The extremely prominent fruit makes it an beautifully
balanced wine especially when aged.
