    Rouge Vintner Sparkling Glass Gift Box (set of 4 glasses)

    The Rouge Vintner glassware range is for the wine obsessed. Designed by our very own Dru Reschke, after 20 years in the wine industry he wanted to create a glass that was not only beautiful but practical. Each glass has been coated with potassium salt which typically gives the glass 5 times the strength of a normal glass - this makes them suitable for use in domestic and commercial dishwashers. The rim has been cold cut and polished, this allows each glass to not only be fine and lightweight but also very strong and durable. Each gift box contains 4 glasses and makes an excellent wedding, engagement or Christmas present.

    Dru's checklist:

    "Why has it been so hard to find the perfect champagne glass? I just wanted one that I can fill in one pour without the bubbles overflowing. One that is wide enough to give off better aromas. One that has a shorter bottom to reach for polishing. And one that is strong, yet still has a fine edge. When I couldn’t find that glass, I designed it myself."

    $6.25 for Angel Guild members Comes in a box of 24 When wine is aged in fine oak barrels, a portion of it evaporates - winemakers call this the ‘Angel’s Share’. It was on this sentiment the Koonara angel was born. The piccolo is a mini version of our 750ml bottle, fabulous when you only feel like 1.5 glasses (we hear it does happen!). The cool 2015 year has given this wine the zesty apple and pear notes. This year we've given it more complexity by adding a small portion of aged chardonnay, creating a hint of honey and butterscotch.     $22.50 for Angel Guild members Est. 1883, the Cape Banks Lighthouse is a significant orange monument 30 mins drive from our vineyards in Mount Gambier. Cool growing conditions, rocky mineraly soils, and low-yielding vines have helped create a complex wine - indeed a beacon of a Chardonnay. 2016 is, in our opinion, our best vintage yet. Organically grown grapes are starting to show the beautiful fruit spectrum of cool climate fruit. 50% new French oak Hogshead barrels for 9 months, going through malo-latic (2nd ferment) changing the malo acids into lactic acid, the same as in milk and butter, giving it a creamy mouth feel. 50% select yeast ferment - single ferment only keeping the crisp lime, pink lady apple and mineral notes. This is ‘left on lees’ (the dead yeast after ferment) and is stirred to increase flavours and complexity. Download tasting notes PDF
